Chieftain I just wanted to thank you personally for all the hard work you have done for us American tankers.  We shall never forget your crusade for a worthy top tier tank!  HOORAH MASTER CHIEF!

The very act of trudging through the archives should be medal-worthy.  I loved my time working for the government, but they do not have their act together when it comes to paperwork.  Kudos to you, Chief!

Would it be bad if all I wanted to see was pony pictures on tanks then have chiefs face on the pony.

Damn, Over at the JT thread we had the Chief go to a Museum for us to measure the JT's lower & upper Glacis Armour, thats the kind of guy he is, a credit to WG, the US Military & its Vets.
Good on ya Chief, your one in a Million mate.

He's the kind of guy that I would buy gold/premium tanks for....if I could afford to.

Would be nice if WG would listen to people who know or thing about tanks like Chieftain a bit more. I think we all understand game balance is needed, but also ignoring historical facts for specific tanks is a bit dumb.

The_Chieftan is the best thing to happen to this forums ever, I think. We finally have a reliably authority in the know who can explain historical facts to both us as well as the devs, who will (hopefully) actually listen to him, something they rarely do for us.

Good work Chieftan, we at the American heavy tank section of the forum in particular salute you.

It isn't Wargaming but the developers that put what details into the game a lot of difference of opinions comes into play when you have a lot of bright developers with PHDs. Also everyone will have to come to there own conclusions. Just like the complaints about the matchmaker not working perfectly when it needs more then 20,000 people to pick from.

Oh No!

Now we have to get him a new hat.
Because the old one no longer fits.  :Smile-hiding:

I can attest that it's real nice having a real Tanker in house.

And no, you can't have him.

It's like we've been hurling our suggestions/concerns/indignation over the heavies at the laughing devs with our slingshots.  Not surprisingly we have been ignored....until Cheiftain came along with his Gatling gun

PS: I'll admit I haven't been part of this for nearly as long as a lot of you have but...you know

It is nice to have someone represent us on the US forums.

No offense to Overlord, but he seemed to be just a mouth piece compared to Chieftain, who seems extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the military and armored vehicles.

Overlord also ran away when the going got tough (points at blog) compared to Chieftain who has balls of steel.

That's more because people respect Chieftain though. They like how much he knows about tanks, and how he works to help the community. Overlord, on the other hand, was the represenatative of WG, so people chose to blame him for everything that was wrong.

Yes, that's very true. I'm not sure why Wargaming thought Overlord was the best choice, unless there's something I don't know.

The problem with Overlord is that he chose to release information before it was final. And the fact in the EU forums, Overlord's "experts" claim the wooden mockup of Chrysler's fifth T110 proposal had a wedge hull because it was easier to make. Guess what, the artist rendering also had a straight wedge hull. Surely an artist working for Chrysler would be able to draw a hull like the M103's right? At the moment, I just don't think too highly of Overlord.

Of the two, The_Chieftain made the riskier move. I don't fault Overlord for doing what he(?) has done; I always appreciate it when a gaming company attempts to create a greater degree of transparency, and I appreciate Overlord's attempt even if it was somewhat flawed. (In Overlord's defense, I am willing to bet that the information communicated was truly believed to be correct at the time.)

The_Chieftain has chosen the riskier path by personally investing in the community. We value him because, rather than being a speaker for the devs, (with whom we, the US tankers, have an antagonistic relationship with) he is a gamer and enthusiast like us, fighting for what we would and do fight.

I'll be honest and say I was skeptical of the impact Chieftain would originally have. I did not give him credit when he first appeared, and credit is due. Chief is so far a prime example in how to become involved in your community and earn it's respect, and I am in awe, for no other representative in any other game before is quite like him. I appreciate the Chiefs knowledge, honesty, affability, politeness, and willingness to work with us.

Kudos Chief, o7
