Is F-30 a good enough top gun for KV-1 after 7.3

According to the interview with Storm published by wot-news.com F-30 will be a top gun for  "new" KV-1 past 7.3. :blink:  F-30 is a top gun  for t-28 and  stock gun for KV-3.

Penetration: 120/161/43
Damage: 160/160/280
Accuracy: 0,37
ROF: 13.33

This will place KV below all other heavies  in terms of penetration, turning it into a very sub-par competitor.  :(  Besides there is no other tank that keeps it's predecessors top gun as it's own top gun (except some tier X tanks). Perhaps  LB-2S or D-5T (D-5T-85BM might be too much to ask)  derivatives might be a substitute.  :Smile-hiding:

that would be fine, if its MM was softened so it doesnt see tier 9s

The mm should be more in line with T1 hvy. It would still have more pen then the t1 hvy with that gun and I believe it is similar to the BDR

You must not play German tanks. Anyways, unless they pump up the RoF, even I'm surprised at the F-30 being the KV-1's top gun.

The DPM is quite respectable, and the tank will be 5 tons lighter without the KV-2 turret - personally I think the 122mm U-11 would be very viable.

I could see that or the 85mm D-5T as working as top gun for that tank, honestly.  If the tank is slow, the D-5t works.  If it's faster, F-30 or some other 85mm.

Well BDR will be a clear winner when it comes to penetration & DPM.

T1 will be in close second not to mention that it would still have  superior frontal armor and mobility, which would leave KV sub-par.
Look I'm not asking to  make KV OP, I'm just concerned that we'll end up with a bland dried brisket of a tank.  :huh:

With much easier MM I think it should be OK.
It'll give T1 Heavy a fighting chance vs KV.

Just be thankful its not going to be stuck with the S-54  :mellow:

Here ya go, I agree with this.  So, it seems the KV is being put in its proper spot as a normal T5 Heavy Tank.  No longer will KV drivers be rolling around with thier super derp guns 1 shotting everything.  The T1 might actually...wait....no, it still will die horribly against the KV.  It just wont get 1 or 2 shotted.  Maybe 3 or 4....  Yeah, F30 85mm being top gun is just jim fine and dandy, though I never used it with the T-28.  Im just glad its not getting the S54 as its top.

I beg to disagree with you assertions for they would be a travesty! Noble KV drivers would be forced to consider meager T1 owners as equals. We might even be forced to use something  called T-a-c-t-i-c-s  :o & something called m-a-n-e-u-v-e-r-i-n-g.  :blink: It still remains to be seen if such things are even possible in a KV.
Besides, this "new" KV is philosophically non-soviet. You see, in Soviet Russia  we make our tanks to drive fast , shoot hard and  ask  unimportant questions like:" would you really like to have communism" about 40 to 50 years later. :Smile-izmena:  And every tank produced by our glorious motherland fits those criteria. Except for KV-3 which  doesn't count anyways as we blame it's "performance"  on corrupting bourgeois influences.  <_< So as you can see for "new" KV to be considered a proper  Soviet tank it simply ought to have a  bigger gun! A gun that would strike terror into a hearts of  capitalist pigs everywhere and call for a dawn of a New Workers Paradise. A gun, forged  by communists and hardened with immortal words of Lenin, that would shoot shells capable of penetrating at least 130mm and dishing out 200 damage.  Now that  would be  a proper tank Klim Voroshilov would be proud to be named after!

You are assuming the gun will have the exact same stats when mounted on KV-1. The penetration is fine considering its peers, seems like you want KV to have the best penetration. Most likely the gun will get rof and accuracy boosts when used on KV-1.

BL-9 is good enough for the KV-4, but will the KV-2 get an armour buff?

Almost all tanks in WoT have historical armor. Why KV-2 should be exseption?

Isn't top turret currently have rounded mantle, like KV-2B had? It's only difference between KV-2 and KV-2B IIRC.
